Hotel Sea Shell - Shimoda (Shizuoka)

We loved staying at this hotel because of its location on a small hill overlooking the fine beach and town. The breakfast offered a variety of western and Japanese-style dishes, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained, and we appreciated the convenience of nearby transportation and parking.

For us, this hotel was ideal and we cannot think of anything negative to say.

The breakfast was delicious with great options to choose from and the staff was very friendly. The location of the hotel was ideal, just a few minutes' walk from the beach and the town center. The rooms were clean and comfortable with amazing views of the surrounding area.

During our stay, there were some issues with the heating system, which made the room quite cold and uncomfortable during the night. Additionally, the hot water in the shower was not consistently hot, which was frustrating and made for an unpleasant shower experience. These issues detracted from our overall enjoyment of the stay.

Guests can enjoy a pizza place, ramen restaurant, and a FamilyMart within walking distance.

There were minor issues with the architecture and trim of some doors and windows that caused a draft when the wind blew from the beach.

The air conditioning unit in the room did not work well and was not cold enough. the staff were not very friendly and did not offer much assistance with local activities.
